چکیده

Mass production of goods with customer specific features is mostly carried out on production lines. Job-dependent processing times in the lines individual work zones necessitate line sequencing, in order to use the line well to capacity. In this contribution, a two-step-method allowing fast sequencing even for huge numbers of jobs and product types is presented. The knowledge about the line characteristics and the possible jobs is modelled using a Petri-net. This model is independent of the set of jobs to be scheduled. Based on the Petri-net’s T-invariants, a valid production sequence is determined efficiently for a particular job set. Copyright © 1998 IFAC

Modular Petri Net based modeling, analysis, synthesis and performance evaluation of random topology dedicated production systems

Ordinary t-timed modular Petri Nets are used for modeling, analysis, synthesis and performance evaluation of random topology dedicated production systems. Each system is first decomposed into production line, assembly, disassembly and parallel machine modules followed by derivation of their modular Petri Net models. Two sets of modules, generic and generalized respectively, are derived correspo...

Sequencing Mixed Model Assembly Line Problem to Minimize Line Stoppages Cost by a Modified Simulated Annealing Algorithm Based on Cloud Theory

This research presents a new application of the cloud theory-based simulated annealing algorithm to solve mixed model assembly line sequencing problems where line stoppage cost is expected to be optimized. This objective is highly significant in mixed model assembly line sequencing problems based on just-in-time production system. Moreover, this type of problem is NP-hard and solving this probl...

Solving a multi-objective mixed-model assembly line balancing and sequencing problem

This research addresses the mixed-model assembly line (MMAL) by considering various constraints. In MMALs, several types of products which their similarity is so high are made on an assembly line. As a consequence, it is possible to assemble and make several types of products simultaneously without spending any additional time. The proposed multi-objective model considers the balancing and sequ...

A P- and T-invariant characterization of product form and decomposition in stochastic Petri nets

Structural product form and decomposition results for stochastic Petri nets are surveyed, unified and extended. The contribution is threefold. First, the literature on structural results for product form over the number of tokens at the places is surveyed and rephrased completely in terms of T -invariants. Second, based on the underlying concept of group-local-balance, the product form results ...

Using Linear Logic to Extend the Analysis Capabilities of T-invariants for Manufacturing Applications

This paper presents a Petri net (PN) analysis technique which extend the analysis capabilities of T-invariants. This technique is based on the conversion of the PN into formulas of linear logic and on the introduction of the marking into P-invariants. It allows to test if T-invariants are pertinent related to the application's constraints of marking. Our technique determines for each valid sequ...
